On board view from one of the booster rockets of NASA mission STS-124. The action begins when the booster rockets separate at an altitude of more than 150,000 feet and starts to tumble back into the atmosphere. The footage just struck me as incredibly beautiful, almost Heinlein-esque.

This stunning imagery is set to an original piece called “The First Breath” that I composed in the summer of 2009.
