A bit about me:
I was born near Houston, TX, but I’ve claimed Dallas since a very ealy age. I grew up learning to love music hearing concerts at the Meyerson, where my mother sang in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I started playing guitar at the age of 12.
In 2000, I started performing gigs around the state to make a living, and after about 3,000 I decided to go back to school to get a music degree studying at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. I have also learned over the years from people such as Miguel Antonio, Joao Lopez (Quatrenaglia), Adam Holzman, and Olga Vera (Kithara Duo).
I have been teaching in the Dallas area since 2000, and since 2012 I have taught privately full time. While my original training was in classical guitar and my performances centered on singing bolero and bossa nova, my teaching encompasses all genres. My approach is to show people how the music they want to play emerges from understanding of applied theory ad mechanics.
